Life insurance corporation of India\u2019s initial public\noffering is by far the most highly anticipated IPO by the market. It\u2019s been in\nnews for almost a year. The process of IPO of the biggest insurer in the\ncountry was delayed because of reasons like time taken to value the gigantic\norganization. After much hustle, LIC finally filled its draft paper with market\nregulators on 13th<\/sup> February 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DRHP stated, that out of total outstanding shares of\n632.49 crores equity shares, this is only a 5% stake of the Indian government\nin LIC. This will help the government to meet its disinvestment target of Rs\n78,000 crore. As per the market, LIC was supposed to open its IPO in March.\nHowever, turmoil on the geopolitical front globally delayed the process and\nmade the investors wait longer than expected to get their hands on LIC IPO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valuation of LIC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Center is expected to slash the valuation of the mammoth\ninsurance firm. The valuation was earlier pegged at Rs16 lakh crores. The LIC\nboard is expected to reduce the valuation of the Insurance company by a whopping\n30% to Rs 11 lakh crores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
